Ornate Studio Homes in London of Two Victorian Artists. Two Victorian Wonders

Step into a painter’s world in the house and studio that Frederick Leighton (1830 - 1896 ) built, lived and worked in. Gorgeously decorated and hung with many of his paintings his home embodies the Victorian idea of how a great artist should live.

10 minutes walk away is Sambourne House, family home of the renowned illustrator and Punch political cartoonist, Linley Sambourne (1844 – 1910) . A fine example of a “House Beautiful” It feels like the family has just stepped out and will be back any moment. 

Accessibility: Leighton House is fully accessible. Sambourne House has 5 flights of steep stairs and steep stairs to the basement entrance.
