Faulkner combines biography, history, archaeology and cinema in his examination of the legend of Lawrence of Arabia as an ‘artefact’ of twentieth century celebrity culture.

Col Lawrence in Arab Dress                                           Lawrence in Cairo

Considering Lawrence’s historical role in the Arab Revolt of 1916-1918 and drawing on archaeological evidence, he will ask if we can find the man behind the legend.
