The V&A is an Aladdin's cave of painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles, fashion, furniture, photography, metalwork and numerous other decorative arts.  The recently renovated Europe 1600-1815 galleries are one of the new pleasures to explore for those who have not visited the museum recently.  Medieval stained glass, designer shoes, the classical, the commercial, the contemporary - all are on display here.  Suspended in the rotunda at the main entrance, Dale Chichuly's glass sculpture chandelier gives a contemporary fizz to the traditional motif.  There will be free time in the afternoon to visit other museums or for Christmas shopping in Knightsbridge.
