Marie-Therese Barrett MA
This survey of Japanese art throughout history, from pre-history to the 19th century, reveals surprising similarities and fascinating contrasts with Western art of the same period. Japanese approaches to painting, society, environment and materials will be explored in comparison with those in Europe. This provides an eye-opener on artistic responses in different cultures.
Marie-Therese Barrett also invites members to bring along family treasures for discussion and provides a cup of Japanese green tea.
